Privacy Policy

DeskPet Reminder ("we," "us," or "our") is a Windows desktop application that turns your reminders into adorable animated pet pop-ups. This Privacy Policy explains what information we handle, how we use it, and the choices you have. Because the app is a local desktop program, most of your data never leaves your device.

Reminder data (stays on your device). The reminders you create — titles, schedules, selected pets, and notification settings — are stored locally on your computer using your operating system's local storage. This data is not uploaded to our servers and is not accessible to us.

Device identifier. To activate a premium license, the app generates a random device identifier (a UUID) on your machine. This identifier is sent to our license service only to validate your license and is not linked to your name, email, or payment details.

Payment information. All payments are processed by our payment partner, Creem. We never receive or store your credit card number. Creem provides us only with a license key and an activation instance id needed to unlock premium features.

AI Assistant input. When you use the built-in AI Assistant to create reminders by typing in natural language, the text you enter is sent to our AI provider (Tencent Hunyuan) for processing and is used solely to generate the reminder for you.

Custom pet images. If you create a custom pet from your own photo, the image is uploaded to our image-processing service for automatic background removal. The processed result is stored locally on your device.

• Improve the app based on aggregate, non-identifying feedback.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

We share the minimum information necessary with these service providers:

• Creem — payment processing and license activation;
• Tencent Hunyuan — natural-language processing for the AI Assistant;
• Tencent image service — background removal for custom pets.

Each provider processes data under its own privacy terms. We encourage you to review their policies.

Reminder data and custom pets remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. License activation records are retained as required to provide and support your purchased license. We keep support correspondence only as long as needed to assist you.

DeskPet Reminder is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because most data is stored locally on your device, you can exercise many of these rights directly in the app. For anything we hold, email us and we will respond within a reasonable time.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information in transit (such as encryption in transit for license and AI requests). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above, and where appropriate, announced in the app or on our website.
